Stainless Steel 317/317L Fasteners contain 18–20% chromium, 11–14% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum with low carbon content in 317L (≤0.03%) to avoid carbide precipitation during welding. These features offer superior resistance to crevice corrosion, pitting, and chloride attack. The fasteners have tensile strength ranging from 515–760 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of approximately 40%, providing toughness and ductility. Their strong chemical and mechanical character positions them aptly for high-seas applications, chemical exposure, and high-temperature exposures.
