Stainless Steel 317/317L Washers consist of 18-20% chromium, 11-14% nickel, and 3-4% molybdenum, which greatly enhances their corrosion resistance compared to regular grades such as 304. The “L” type contains low carbon content (≤0.03%), enhancing weldability and minimizing carbide precipitation. These washers generally have a tensile strength of 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 35–40%. They are superb in high-temperature settings and hostile chemical exposures, and for that reason, they are a trustworthy option for use where mechanical strength and corrosion protection are a requirement.
SS 317/317L Washers find common application in chemical processing facilities, marine equipment, petrochemical refineries, and pharmaceutical machinery where exposure to aggressive chemicals is common.
