Copper Nickel Washers come in two main alloy compositions: 90/10 (90% copper, 10% nickel) and 70/30 (70% copper, 30% nickel), with small amounts of iron and manganese added to enhance strength and corrosion resistance. The 70/30 alloy boasts greater mechanical strength, achieving tensile strength up to 500 MPa and yield strength around 200 MPa, while the 90/10 alloy offers tensile strength close to 400 MPa. Both types show excellent ductility (elongation ~30–45%), a modulus of elasticity around 140 GPa, and robust resistance to seawater, making them ideal for demanding structural and sealing applications.
