SMO 254 Washers are constructed of a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with about 20% chromium, 18% nickel, 6% molybdenum, 0.2% nitrogen, and iron as the basis. This composition provides outstanding resistance to crevice corrosion, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking in environments that contain chlorides. They have high tensile strength, yield strength greater than 300 MPa, and elongation of about 35%, giving them strength and also flexibility. Their outstanding impact toughness, even at high temperatures, makes them ideal for high-pressure and corrosive services, providing long service life and operational reliability.
