Stainless Steel 17-4 PH is a unique martensitic precipitation-hardening alloy that consists of about 17% chromium, 4% nickel, 3–5% copper, along with trace elements of niobium and tantalum. This special blend allows the alloy to achieve impressive strength and hardness through heat treatment. Its mechanical properties boast tensile strength reaching up to 1310 MPa, yield strength up to 1170 MPa, and elongation between 10–20%, depending on the heat treatment process. Typically, the hardness falls between 35 to 44 HRC, providing excellent corrosion resistance and mechanical stability, especially in high-stress environments.
