Stainless Steel 309/309S is an austenitic alloy that contains 22–24% chromium and 12–15% nickel. The 309S variant features a lower carbon content (maximum 0.08%) compared to standard 309 (maximum 0.20%), which enhances its weldability and minimizes the risk of carbide precipitation. These fasteners boast a tensile strength of around 550 MPa, a yield strength of about 205 MPa, and an elongation of approximately 40%. Typically, they have a hardness close to 95 HRB.
