Stainless Steel 405 Washers are made from a ferritic stainless steel alloy that contains about 12% chromium, low carbon, and trace amounts of aluminum to enhance oxidation resistance and manage grain growth during welding. SS 405 provides moderate tensile strength (around 450–600 MPa), outstanding thermal stability, and better machinability compared to other ferritic grades.
